A Winning Combination

360 Sport and Entertainment, part of the Mana Group, successfully facilitated negotiations between Destination NSW, event operator, Pont3 and event owner, Athletics Australia for the Sydney Running Festival to become an Abbott World Majors Candidate Event.

Revolutionising Sydney’s Largest Race

Between 2022 and 2024 the Sydney Running Festival will undergo a significant upscale in delivery and participation as it looks to join the New York City Marathon, London Marathon, Chicago Marathon, Boston Marathon and Berlin Marathon as an Abbott World Marathon Major.

Intense Negotiations

12-months of detailed negotiations, strategy and planning has seen a major investment from Destination NSW to support the candidacy and event expansion. The event currently has 40,000 participants and will grow to see more than 15,000 of those participants complete the marathon distance event. The event will be broadcast live nationally and internationally through distribution partners in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Extension of Partnership

In addition to facilitating funding negotiations, 360 Sport and Entertainment, a Mana Group company, has been appointed to deliver the rebrand of Sydney Running Festival to Sydney Marathon and implement the end-to-end look and feel program for the event expansion.
