Ironman world champion Daniela Ryf made triathlon history. The 28-year-old from Solothurn won the half-Ironman (70.3) in Bahrain and was the first triathlete ever to hit the million dollar jackpot for the so-called Triple Crown.
Ryf secured the jackpot because she had already won the first two crowns over half the Ironman distance in Dubai (Challenge) and the 70.3 World Championship in Zell am See (Ironman).
