Leadership structure strengthens One Hundred® for its next phase of global growth
One Hundred®, the global trail and ultra running series, has announced the appointment of four-time world champion and global endurance sports leader Chris McCormack AM as Executive Chairman, strengthening its leadership structure as it enters its next phase of international growth.
The appointment, approved by the One Hundred® Board, will see McCormack step into the Executive Chairman role after serving as President of Global Strategy and Performance, bringing his extensive experience across elite sport, business and the global endurance industry to One Hundred®’s next phase of development.
As part of the leadership structure, One Hundred® founder João Andrade will move into the role of Founder and Director, continuing to play an active role in the strategic direction and growth of the organisation and working alongside McCormack, João de Saldanha and the wider leadership team.
João de Saldanha will continue as Chief Executive Officer, leading the day-to-day operations of One Hundred® and the execution of its global strategy.
The changes come at an important stage in One Hundred®’s development as the organisation continues to expand its global footprint and build an international competition pathway across trail and ultra running.
João Andrade said the new structure reflected the evolution of One Hundred® and the strength of the leadership team now in place.
“One Hundred® was founded with a clear ambition to create something meaningful and lasting for the global trail and ultra running community. It has been incredibly rewarding to see that vision grow and evolve.
“Moving into the Founder and Director role allows me to remain closely involved in the strategic direction of One Hundred® while supporting Chris, João and the wider team as we continue to grow the organisation internationally.
“We have built strong foundations, but there is still an enormous opportunity ahead of us. I’m proud of what we have achieved so far and incredibly excited about this next chapter for One Hundred®.”
McCormack said the strengthened leadership structure would allow One Hundred® to build on its foundations while sharpening its focus on long-term international growth.
“One Hundred® has reached an exciting point in its evolution. João, João and the wider team have built strong foundations and a global vision for what this platform can become.
“There is a huge opportunity in trail and ultra running to build something that connects athletes, events, destinations and partners around a clear global pathway. My focus as Executive Chairman will be on that bigger picture, strengthening the strategy, opening opportunities and making sure we have the right structure and relationships around the business to deliver on our ambitions.
“I’ve spent my life in endurance sport, both as an athlete and in business and I believe enormously in the potential of One Hundred® and where we can take it from here.”
João de Saldanha said the appointment of McCormack as Executive Chairman would add significant experience to One Hundred®’s leadership as the organisation continues to scale internationally.
“This is an important next step for One Hundred® and one that gives us an even stronger leadership structure as we look to the future.
“Chris brings an exceptional depth of experience across global sport, strategy and business, as well as an understanding of endurance sport that few people can match. As CEO, my focus remains on leading the business, delivering our strategy and ensuring we continue to build One Hundred® into a world-class global platform for trail and ultra running.
“We have ambitious plans for One Hundred® and I’m excited to work alongside Chris, João and the wider team as we take the next step in that journey.”
McCormack is one of the most recognised figures in global endurance sport. A four-time world champion, he has built a career spanning elite competition, sports entrepreneurship, event development and athlete-focused ventures.
In June 2026, McCormack was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division as part of the King’s Birthday Honours, recognising his distinguished service to sport through athletic achievement, athlete advocacy, youth participation and sporting innovation.
One Hundred® continues to grow its international footprint through its global racing portfolio, spanning multiple trail and ultra running distances and bringing together athletes, events and communities across international markets.
The strengthened leadership structure reflects One Hundred®’s ambition to build a sustainable global platform for trail and ultra running while maintaining the athlete, event, stakeholder and community relationships at the heart of the organisation.
