Every Sydney Hobart campaign begins long before Boxing Day.
For the crews chasing one of offshore sailing’s greatest prizes, the road to the 2026 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race officially began on Sydney Harbour with the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race.
Opening both the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s offshore season and the Blue Water Pointscore Series, the race is more than the first test of the season. It sets the tone for the months ahead, where preparation, teamwork and performance are refined with every nautical mile.
From the anticipation on the start line to the fleet charging through Sydney Heads, the race once again delivered a spectacular reminder of why offshore sailing continues to capture the imagination of competitors and fans alike.
